Sean “Diddy” Combs convicted on prostitution charges — not guilty of sex trafficking, racketeering

The jury in a high-profile, seven-week-long trial found Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty of two prostitution charges while finding the hip-hop mogul not guilty of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, per the Associated Press.

If convicted on all charges, Combs could have faced life in prison. Instead, he faces a maximum of twenty years, as the two charges of transportation for purposes of prostitution each carry a maximum sentence of ten years.

“I’ll be home soon,” Diddy said as he was led out of the courtroom by U.S. Marshals.

The mogul was ultimately denied bail and will remain in custody until he is sentenced. The government argued that Combs’ detention until sentencing is mandatory unde

No sentencing date has been set. There has been speculation that President Donald Trump may look to pardon Diddy.

“Nobody’s asked,” Trump told reporters in May, “I think some people have been very close to asking.”

Trump added that he would “look at what’s happening, and I haven’t been watching it too closely,” referring to the trial.

Outside the courthouse in Lower Manhattan, supporters and detractors of Diddy clashed over the verdict, in a video posted to X.
