“This is not a hoax”: Epstein birthday book note allegedly from Trump shared by House Dems

Democrats from the House Committee on Oversight released a sexually suggestive drawing and note meant for the late sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein. The note was shared with the committee by Epstein’s estate and appears to bear the signature of President Donald Trump.

The note imagines a conversation between Trump and Epstein. The dialogue is surrounded by a doodle of the outline of a woman. A signature very similar to Trump’s appears below the woman’s waist. The existence of the note, from a collection of similar celebrations of Epstein put together for his 50th birthday, was first reported by the Wall Street Journal in July.

Speaking to the Journal in July, Trump denied the note’s existence, calling it a “fake thing.” Following that story’s publication, Trump sued the outlet and owner Rupert Murdoch for defamation, seeking $10 billion in damages. Vice President JD Vance took a similar tack at the time, calling the scoop “complete and utter buls**t.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom resurfaced Vance’s response on Monday.

“This aged nicely,” he wrote.

Oversight member Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., accused Trump of “lying” and “leading a White House cover-up” after the letter was shared.

“The oversight committee will be reviewing the documents we received today, and we will not stop until we get justice for the victims and all those that were involved,” Garcia said in a video posted to X.

The White House continues to claim the letter is a fabrication. Deputy White House Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich questioned the letter’s legitimacy in a post on X. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the allegations surrounding the note “false.”

“As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” Leavitt said in a social media post. “This is FAKE NEWS to perpetuate the Democrat Epstein Hoax!”
