Kayleigh Gives Dumbest Possible Defense Of Kimmel Firing

Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany joined Jesse Watters on his Fox News show to discuss the topic du jour: How it’s OK that Trump is taking a massive shit all over the Constitution in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s shooting death? We knew when Trump took a victory lap after Stephen Colbert’s show ended abruptly, and then FCC’s Brendan Carr launched a pressure campaign to target Jimmy Kimmel’s show, that none of this is a coincidence.

McEnany and Watters piled on Trump’s trampling of the First Amendment with some of the most painfully stupid defenses we’ve heard yet.

“It’s just a shame, and he should know better as a grown man in show business,” Watters said of Kimmel. “People are acting like, you know, he’s just some homeless guy screaming things on the corner. This guy is at ABC. When’s the last time ABC tolerated much, let alone this?”

“Right, you know, I’m watching some of the liberal networks,” McEnany said. “I’ve never heard them care about the Constitution so much. “Their First Amendment, First Amendment, this has nothing to do with the First Amendment.”

“This has to do with the business decision, as you noted,” she falsely said. And for all the concern about the First Amendment, the First Amendment, I mean, they’re apoplectic, Jesse.”

“What about all the amendments that Charlie Kirk lost?” she added. “Because Charlie Kirk has no amendments right now, none. And the outrage I see over Jimmy Kimmel, I wish I would’ve seen that for the death of a father and a husband who should still be here.”

Kimmel showed Charlie Kirk more respect than Trump did after his murder. The First Amendment allowed Kirk to demean groups of Americans. He especially disliked Black people, women, and immigrants. And yet, this is America, and that is allowed under the Constitution. We don’t know the motivation of the suspect. At this point, with the Trump administration and its enablers going whole hog into fascism while weaponizing Kirk’s school shooting death, it’s doubtful that we’re getting any accurate reports about the tragedy that unfolded that day. And don’t get us started about the 2nd Amendment. Kirk celebrated that amendment while he was alive.

And what about all the slaughtered school children? They’ll never grow up to experience any of the amendments in our Constitution. McEnany’s defense isn’t a defense. It’s a confession from a Trump supporter who is basically saying it’s OK to take away rights from Democrats. Also, Jesse Watters can fuck all the way off, too.

Whatever is in the Epstein Files must be appalling for this massive distraction they’re throwing our way. Kirk wanted the Epstein Files released, and he would not approve of conservatives taking a dump on the First Amendment, especially in his name.

Kayleigh McEnany on Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension: “For all the concern about the ‘the First Amendment, the First Amendment,’ what about all the amendments that Charlie Kirk lost? Because Charlie Kirk has no amendments right now. None.”
