In less than half a minute, Texas Democrat James Talarico demonstrated why he has a real chance to win a U.S. Senate seat there.
Without one bit of defensiveness, Talarico drove a nail straight through the weak heart of the childish name-calling from Republicans. He began by hammering at their core vulnerability: their policies and governing.
“I think these nicknames that they’re throwing at me don’t do anything to lower the cost of groceries,” he said. “These nicknames don’t lower the cost of gas or healthcare or childcare.”
Next, he highlighted MAGA’s performative-only politics. “I think Texans and Americans are really fed up with this professional wrestling of politics, right?”
The 37-year-old concluded with a grenade, highlighting how he represents a fresh approach from the next generation: “These old men lathered up in their fake tans, throwing these corny nicknames at each other.”
Bingo!
