‘Come On, Man!’: Blanche Rages At Dana Bash For Mentioning January 6th

Trump’s corrupt Attorney General didn’t take too kindly to CNN’s Dana Bash bringing up January 6th while asking him about their latest attempt to pre-steal the Alaska Senate race.

As we discussed here, the DOJ lawsuit filed this past week seeks to block the certification of the election unless the Republican wins, and the pretext for the suit is the claim that confusion over two candidates with the same first and last name “could taint the election,” despite the fact that the Alaska Supreme Court already ruled on this.

Blanche repeatedly denied that that’s what they’re doing, and never answered Bash’s questions about how they’d actually prove who these voters were that were supposedly confused and voted for the wrong candidate.

The interview got ugly when Bash dared to bring up Trump trying to overturn the results of the presidential election and what happened on January 6th.

Here’s the exchange via CNN:

BASH: Can we just — can we just take a step back here? Can we take a step back as to — you were asking why people are asking questions about this.

And let’s just talk turkey, because one of the big questions is whether or not the president is laying the groundwork for a scenario where the — whether it’s Alaska or somewhere else, there is, in your words, a couple of days ago, a doomsday scenario, and we could be in a situation where President Trump tries to overturn the election, and the result of that could be, God forbid, what we saw after January 6. That is one of the fundamental questions.

BLANCHE: I mean, oh, stop it.

BASH: No.

BLANCHE: Oh, you got to stop it with that. You are not being a real person. Come on, man.

BASH: Why are you yelling at me? Oh, come on, man.

BLANCHE: That is crazy.

BASH: It is not crazy.

BLANCHE: Wait. Hold on one second. Hold on one second. Wait, wait, wait. Stop, stop, stop.

BASH: I would have said that before January 6.

BLANCHE: You asked a question. Let me answer it.

BASH: No.

BLANCHE: Hold on. You set me up. You set me up with the following question.

BASH: OK.

BLANCHE: Because the president, because the Department of Justice is concerned that there is an absolute fraud happening in Alaska, and he wants to do something about it, you’re saying, Mr. Attorney General, because the president of the United States wants to stop a fraud and confusion…

BASH: This is a president that has a history…

BLANCHE: … is he going to do something crazy?

That is not — that is not a real question.

BASH: I wish it wasn’t.

BLANCHE: That is not a real question. I’m sorry.

BASH: I wish it wasn’t.

BLANCHE: Well, if you’re in luck then, because it’s not. It’s not.

BASH: But if you’re laying the groundwork for the president to try to overturn an election that he doesn’t like, there is…

(CROSSTALK)

BLANCHE: We’re not laying any groundwork for the president to do that.

BASH: OK.

BLANCHE: So your premise, your question is not true.

What I said, — and so if you — so you have to listen to what I say, or it’s not a fair conversation. What I said is, the groundwork that we are laying is for Alaska, for the state of Alaska, if it becomes an issue after the election, will have the ability to determine whether there was confusion that violates the law in determining who the senator should be.

That is not Donald J. Trump. That is not our president.

All the gaslighting in the world isn’t going to change the fact that we’ve got an insurrectionist sitting in the White House who is desperate to hang onto power and will do anything necessary to achieve that.

Blanche continued insisting that they have the right to do this regardless of how the Alaskan Supreme Court ruled, and accused Bash of “embarrassing” her network by bringing up January 6th.

As she noted at the end of the interview, we’ll see how the federal courts rule on this latest attempt to interfere in the midterms by Trump and Blanche. Democrats filed a motion on Friday to dismiss the suit.
