Trump’s DC gambit is “distraction” from his “involvement in pedophile ring,” Philly DA says

Larry Krasner thinks Donald Trump‘s decision to take control of Washington, D.C.‘s police force has nothing to do with crime and everything to do with a criminal.

In an interview with CNN‘s Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday, the Philadelphia district attorney said the president’s capital city crackdown was meant to distract from his association with the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein.

“Let’s not get lost in his silly argument, his silly distraction, from the fact that he doesn’t want to give up information on his own involvement in a pedophile ring,” Krasner said. “Did we all forget about that?”

While announcing his plans to take control of the Metropolitan Police Department and deploy the D.C. National Guard, Trump threatened similar federal takeovers of Democrat-led cities like Chicago and Baltimore. Krasner, a frequent critic of Trump and his cronies, stopped by the network to cry foul and warn the president away from trying a similar move in Philadelphia.

“This is a normalization of troops being deployed to do what they should not be asked to do, what they’re not equipped to do, and what violates the Constitution and laws,” Krasner said. “This is a profoundly un-American attempt to exercise power in ways that are illegal, to scare big cities and to go after Democratic cities that are diverse, to serve his racist, fascist agenda.”

Krasner is not the first attorney general to speak out against Trump’s D.C. takeover. The city’s own attorney general called Trump’s actions “unprecedented, unnecessary, and unlawful” on Monday.

“There is no crime emergency in the District of Columbia,” Brian Schwalb shared on X. “Violent crime in DC reached historic 30-year lows last year, and is down another 26% so far this year.”
