Maybe Pete Hegseth is a dry drunk struggling through the difficulties of being an alcoholic, trying to remain sober. Maybe he is still drinking and in the throes of the mental effects of alcohol on the brain. Maybe he is struggling with the challenge of staying monogamous in a Christian marriage, given his past with women that included cheating and adultery. Whatever his psychological issues, the American people are concerned about his lack of qualifications to be Secretary of Defense, his warmongering, his arrogance, and his disrespect for military leaders who, compared to him, expose his incompetence. Those Senators who confirmed Hegseth disqualified themselves from being worthy of re-election. The cowardly opportunists of the Trump GOP Congress will never live down their support of Trump, his anti- American movement, and the likes of Pete Hegseth and the entire Cabinet of misfits.
HEGSETH’ S LEGACY OF ARROGANT INCOMPETENCE, RACISM, MISOGYNY, AND LAWLESSNESS
Signalgate” Security Breach (2025): An Inspector General report concluded that Hegseth used the commercial messaging app Signal to share classified, “Secret/NOFORN” (No Foreign Nationals) information regarding pending airstrikes in Yemen.
Targeting and Rules of Engagement (2026): Under his leadership, the DoD faced scrutiny over a “maximum engagement” strategy that led to increased civilian harm, including a strike on an elementary school in Iran, raising concerns about the abandonment of traditional laws of war.
Intervention in Personnel Promotions: Hegseth allegedly intervened in the military promotion process, halting the advancement of at least six officers, including Black and female personnel, who were on track for promotion to one-star general ranks. He also unilaterally removed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Gen. CQ Brown, and the Navy’s top officer, Adm. Lisa Franchetti.
“Purge” of Military Leadership and Culture: Critics, including retired military leaders, have accused Hegseth of creating a hostile, chaotic environment at the Pentagon, causing a “paranoid” atmosphere and conducting ideological purges of senior officers.
Reckless Militarism in the Caribbean: Hegseth authorized military strikes against alleged drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean, a strategy that faced backlash from lawmakers who argued it was a misuse of military force and that the administration provided no evidence for their “narco-terrorist” labels.
Disregard for Official Procedures: Reports indicate that Hegseth frequently bypassed standard Pentagon procedures and, in some cases, failed to preserve records, leading to accusations of violating federal, record-keeping regulations.
These actions led to bipartisan criticism and skepticism about whether Hegseth should remain in charge of our military.
