Andrew Weissmann’s Book “Liars Kingdom” Warns Against The Danger Of Political Lying And How To Fight Back.

In the first chapter of his new book, Weissmann makes clear that Trump’s political lying has damaged American democracy more than any of the singular heinous actions that Trump has taken. Weismann reminds us that the original lie of election fraud in 2020 was the beginning of Trump normalizing a level of political lying which would launch a cult movement that aimed to diminish the power of the Constitution. Weissmann reminds us of the blatant lies Trump told because he couldn’t admit that he lost the election:

” I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally.” ( November 27, 2016).

“There was NO Way Biden got 80,000,000 million votes.” ( Nov. 26, 2020).

” This is the greatest fraud in the history of our country”. ( NOV. 29, 2020).

” Tremendous evidence pouring in on voter fraud.”

( no evidence of fraud was ever produced by Trump). ( Dec. 15th, 2020).

Trump has continued to lie daily, and his allies and voters accept his lies as truths. Trump learned this technique by studying the behaviors of historical, heinous dictators. “Liars Kingdom” points out that Trump knew he had lost. AG Bill Barr told him that he had lost, that there was no evidence of fraud, and that the results were definitive. He was even heard saying, ” Can you believe I lost to that fuckin guy?” So Trump knew he lost and chose to lie to the American people for personal and political gain. Weissmann said two strong supporters of Trump provided evidence that “Trump’s public election lie was planned ahead of the election results as a failsafe that he could use if he lost.”

The ” big lie” of election fraud in 2020 is undoubtedly the most damaging lie Trump has told. The conspiracy by Trump, his allies, and voters to spread that lie has cost people their lives and has caused tremendous damage to our democracy. Trump has continued to lie as consistently as one breathes.

A small sample of Trump’s blatant, criminal, delusional lies is:

Prices and inflation are down, Iran posed an imminent military threat to America, the Epstein files are a Democratic hoax, foreign countries pay US tariffs, Washington DC had no murders since he took over law enforcement there ( it had 50 murders), Ukraine started the Ukraine/ Russian War, he claimed he would end the Ukraine/ Russian War in 24 hours, claimed the government had been planning to send $50 million “to Gaza to buy condoms for Hamas,” claimed foreign countries emptied their prisons and mental institutions and sent crazies and criminals to migrate to America, claimed that he ended 7 or 8 wars, said Capitol rioters did not commit “assault”, and that the media coverage of Trump is illegal.

Weissmann’s book alerts us to the dangers of political lying and the need to consider legislation to prevent such lying from going unchecked and unpunished.

Weissmann recommends tools to help combat Trump’s authoritarianism and to improve the mechanisms that ensure such an attack from within our government can never happen again because of corrupt lying to the public He is suggesting:.

Keep the focus on the authoritarianism that Trump started and that metasisized in our politics

Establish anti- lying legislation

Create debarment standards to restrict people from holding office who have broken anti- lying laws.

BECAUSE A CORRUPT REPUBLICAN PARTY VIOLATED THEIR OATH OF OFFICE BY CEDING THEIR POWERS TO DONALD TRUMP, AMERICAN POLITICS HAS BEEN GRAVELY DAMAGED, BUT THANKFULLY NOT FATALLY WOUNDED. WITH LEGAL SCHOLARS LIKE WEISSMANN STRATEGIZING HOW TO PROTECT US FROM POLITICAL CORRUPTION.

NO TRUMP OR ANY FAMILY MEMBER AND NO MAGA POLITICIAN SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO HOLD OFFICE IN OUR GOVERNMENT OR DEMOCRACY WILL DIE. THAT IS THEIR GOAL.
