Jeanine Pirro Keeps Abusing Her Power On Trump’s Behalf And Now She’s In Deep Sh-t

Former Fox News talking head turned US attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro has made pandering to Donald J. Trump the epicenter of her entire career — and now it very well may cost her that career as she now faces a serious bar complaint over allegations of blatantly abusing her power to appease the President and unfairly prosecute his political enemies.

The complaint was filed with a state grievance committee in White Plains, New York, an entity that handles ethics cases against attorneys, by the Legal Accountability Center. In that complaint, they call on the committee to investigate Jeanine Pirro and pursue disciplinary action against her for abusing her power as the top federal prosecutor in D.C. by pursuing improper indictments against six Democratic lawmakers as part of her efforts to do the President’s legal bidding.

The six lawmakers in question appeared in a video in November of last year urging US servicemembers to reject orders that they believed were unlawful. All six lawmakers have previously served in the military or intelligence agencies.

The complaint states that Pirro had no legal basis for her “patently improper effort” to indict the Democratic lawmakers, and was operating solely on partisan politics.

“The only purpose could have been political animus and a desire to intimidate perceived enemies of the federal government and the President, who personally criticized the lawmakers’ video as seditious and punishable by death,” the bar complaint reads.

As soon as the video went public, Donald Trump went off the rails, accusing the lawmakers of sedition and suggesting that their actions were “punishable by DEATH.” Soon after, Pirro’s office was assigned the investigation, as noted in the complaint.

Co-founder of the Legal Accountability Center, Michael Teter, told the Associated Press in a statement: “Prosecutors have enormous power, and with that power comes an obligation to exercise independent legal judgment rather than use the criminal justice system to carry out a president’s political demands.”

In February of this year, a Washington grand jury refused to indict a single one of the six lawmakers involved in the video—an action that used to be extraordinarily rare, but has grown far more common under the Trump Administration.

Pirro’s office has seen success in only four of its first eight criminal trials this year, placing her success rate well below the national average, per a report from CNN earlier this year.

In addition to the complaint against Pirro, the center further accused two of her subordinates, Carlton Davis and Steven Vandervelden, of similar ethical violations.

Frankly, Pirro had to know that this would all come to a head eventually. You cannot simply prosecute people because they hurt Donald Trump’s feelings. That’s not a real crime.
