Whatever shred of irony that was left in this mess of a presidential administration, JD Vance just murdered it.
The vice president sat down for a podcast chat with Bryce Crawford and dove headfirst into a certifiably insane discussion that ranged from UFOs to prophecies of the end times to the spiritual condition of Silicon Valley.
In that already unhinged discussion, Crawford raised the topic of President Donald Trump’s infamous AI Jesus picture—the one he posted to Truth Social on Orthodox Easter, no less —depicting himself as Jesus, complete with white robes and a red sash.
Apparently, the image really stuck in Crawford’s craw, and he let JD know.
“I’m a Christian. I saw the photo. It made me upset. I’m not gonna lie,” Crawford told the vice president of the AI Trump Jesus photo. “My personal opinion — I don’t know how he thought he was a doctor in the photo.”
“I mean, he was in a white robe with a red sash on it, you know? And that makes me upset as a Christian,” the podcast host complained.
“So it’s like, did Donald Trump mean to post a meme of himself as God? No,” Vance replied, inadvertently asserting that his boss isn’t blasphemous, just stupid. “I — he did not mean to mock or mimic God. That’s just not who he is.”
Trump, of course, claimed that at the time he thought the image was depicting him as a doctor, saving people, telling reporters following the onslaught of backlash from his own supporters: “I did post it, and I thought it was me as a doctor, and had to do with Red Cross, as a Red Cross worker there, which we support. Normally I don’t like doing that, but I didn’t want to have anybody be confused. People were confused.”
But according to JD, the world’s got far bigger fish to fry than Donald Trump’s blasphemous behaviors, as he thinks the actual Antichrist is probably “walking among us.”
“I think that there are, like, things about the world that make me feel like I’d be not shocked if the Antichrist was walking among us,” Vance told the podcast host. “I mean, my view on it is — so, one, do I think that we’re in the end times? I don’t know.”
Funnily enough, this might be the first time in my life I’ll ever admit that JD Vance may not be wrong.
Frankly, if the Antichrist is a real thing, I wouldn’t doubt that he’s walking among us. Or, more accurately, walking right alongside JD Vance through the halls of the White House.
