Most C&L readers know I love watching a fun, quirky comedy sitcom at night to wind down.
I’ve found hidden gems like Raising Hope, Happy Endings, and Speechless that only lasted a few seasons but were hilarious. I stayed away from a lot of the big network shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory because, while they had great casts, they just never made me laugh all that much.
I did catch up on them during COVID.
I just started watching Everybody Loves Raymond, and I’m on the fence about the show.
It premiered in 1996 and won 15 Emmys during its run.
In the first season, I chuckled a few times, especially whenever Brad Garrett shows up, but mostly some of the setups are standard fare.
Phil Rosenthal’s series won Outstanding Comedy Series in 2006 and 2005, so I hope it does improve.
