“Elon Musk and Trump are throwing Ukraine to the Wolves” was The Telegraph’s headline this morning. Last night, Musk suddenly restricted Starlink from Ukraine’s military while America didn’t give Ukraine warning of Russian missile attacks.
Some international leaders believe Musk is playing a political game. Poland finances many of Ukraine’s Starlink terminals. Poland’s Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has put Elon Musk on notice about the sudden Starlink outage:
Elon’s Strategic Starlink Restriction
Credible sources confirm that Musk suddenly restricted Ukrainian soldiers’ use of Starlink satellite internet devices in the middle of battles. An adviser on military technology to Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, told The Guardian:
“The terminals, which are distributed and managed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, are a key component of Ukraine’s military operations, and the sudden restrictions on the terminals traveling at high speeds on Tuesday evening led to the failure of several combat missions.”
The outlet noted that Starlink’s sudden “outage” happened just as Russia launched ballistic missiles at Ukraine without the U.S. giving advance warning for a second night. For years, the US has shared intelligence with Ukraine before attacks.
Americans Support Ukraine
Despite overwhelming approval from the American people for Ukraine and against Russia, the Trump administration and the world’s richest man seem to back Russia and Putin.
Reagan National Defense Survey found that 62% of Americans, Democrats and Republicans, support Ukraine. The survey revealed that Americans “perceive Russia as an adversary. They perceive Ukraine as an ally.” The survey indicated that 70% of Americans support sending weapons to Ukraine.
American People Back Ukraine But Trump Supports Russia?
The Trump administration has shown public support for Russia in the past week.
On October 10, President Donald Trump made a deal with Russia to supply more than 4 million tons of diesel to the global market. Trump’s diesel deal is a gift to Putin so he can murder more Ukrainians. A bipartisan group of senators called for Trump to stop his latest boost to Russia’s war on Ukraine,
The Atlantic’s Anne Applebaum summarized Trump’s Russian fuel deal:
“Donald Trump has dropped all pretense, torched a couple decades of American policy, and undermined 18 months of his own diplomacy. He lifted sanctions on the import of Russian diesel fuel, in violation of the letter and spirit of laws that he himself signed. He has threatened to stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine, unless Ukraine agrees not to target Russian refineries, thus demanding that Kyiv give up its most effective weapon while asking nothing from Russia in exchange. He has not criticized Russian attacks on Ukrainian power plants or factories, even those owned by American companies. He has offered no condolences for the recent deaths of Ukrainian children in Russian bombing raids.”
Meidas Media Editor Ron Filipkowski weighed on about Trump’s latest actions on BlueSky:
Ukrainians Feel Betrayed
The Telegraph reported that an angry Ukrainian intelligence source compared Trump and Elon’s actions to World War II:
“If Trump had been running the United States back in 1939, I think he would have been Hitler’s ally. And on the side of the Warsaw ghetto, Witkoff and Kushner would have built a posh hotel complex.
The source added that Musk’s role would “probably involve V2 rockets.”
